What is the initiative?
The National Talent Export Programme is a key National initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria that will serve as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to position Nigeria as a leading global hub for service exports, talent sourcing, and talent exports. NATEP will serve as a dedicated entity to promote growth and address the unique needs and challenges faced by the talent and service export industry.
What is the aim of the program?
The program aims to position Nigeria as a Talent Export Hub leveraging its youthful population and supporting the promise of President Bola Ahmed Tinibu to deliver 1 Million jobs.
What are the Objectives of the NATEP?
  1. To promote the growth of the Nigerian Talent/Trade in Services industry by creating an enabling environment for business expansion and investment through the removal of inter-agency barriers and facilitation of collaboration to deliver 1 million jobs in the digital economy.
  2. To develop & implement strategic initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of trade service export & BPO companies and attract new businesses to the sector.
  3. To foster innovation and R&D efforts in the trade and service export industry to drive economic advancements and improve service offerings.
  4. To provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing among industry stakeholders, including businesses, academia, and government agencies.
  5. E. To facilitate skill development and talent acquisition in line with the evolving needs of the trade in services industry.

When and where was the Program Launched?
The program was launched on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on 22nd September 2023 at the Microsoft Office in New York.
Who Launched NATEP Program?
The program was launched by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu represented by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.
How will it work?

The FG will provide support and remove impediments across the talent export value chain in close collaboration with industry players and business support organizations to create an enabling environment for talent export.

What is BPO?
BPO is when an organization hires another for a specific process, task, or service.
How many jobs will be created?
The Project aims to create a minimum of 1 Million jobs in the service export industry.
Are there policies that support the BPO industry?
There exist a number of policies that support NATEP including but not limited to the National Development Plan (2021-2025), the Renewed Hope Agenda, Accelerating our collective prosperity through technical efficiency, National Outsourcing Strategy, National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, etc
